4. Preparing for Printing
This section will introduce two methods of print settings featuring the EPSPN Stylus Photo R2400 as an example.

A. Print Settings Using the Printer Driver
This is a configuration for printing Adobe RGB (or sRGB) images as faithfully as possible to how they are displayed on the monitor. It is simpler than the print settings using the color management system (CMS) provided with Adobe Photoshop that will be explained in the next section. However color matching with a printer is difficult unless a printer for professional use that is optimized for color matching is employed. As mentioned previously, saturated colors such as those in the shaded portion in the above figure can be reproduced on a monitor screen but not outputted by a printer which makes color matching between the monitor and printer difficult.
B. Print Settings Using Adobe Photoshop CMS
Print color simulation is available using the color management system (CMS) built into Adobe Photoshop. Using this method, configuring Adobe Photoshop 7 or later with the printing paper's ICC profile is necessary, but you can confirm on the monitor how much the saturation will be affected when you are working with images that include highly-saturated colors.
When printing images in a color management system, print settings using Adobe Photoshop's CMS is standard. The premise for this is that the profiles used are accurate. However, the procedure is somewhat difficult. Consequently, we recommend you try color matching by using the printer driver as mentioned in the section above. If the level of color matching precision is poor, then we recommend you try using Photoshop's CMS.
When using Adobe Photoshop Elements or other image display software, you can't use Photoshop's CMS so please opt for print settings that use the printer driver.
